Files and Info regarding the free 3D Web Player 1 year, 12 months ago #649

May 26, 2011: Studio3D.TV is proud to announce the public release of its flash-based 3D Web Player. Files and info are included below.

The 3D Web Player supports:
-video streaming
-video resolutions ranging from SD to full 3D HD.
-interlaced 3D video, including horizontal, checkered, and vertical.
-side-by-side and over/under, with HDMI/stretching support
-anaglyph glasses support
-3D-to-2D support
-Performance and Quality selection modes
-slow flicker-based (under 30hz) 3D effect
-swap left/right options
-cookie support to remember last used settings.

Currently the player only supports side-by-side 3D file formats as input files.

As for licensing agreement, this product is the sole property of Stephen Seguin, founder of Studio3d.TV. Anyone is freely allowed to use the player, for non-commercial personal purposes, unless otherwise specified by me directly. However, there are a few rules that users must abide by.

1.You are not allowed to decompile, disassemble, or modify the player in any way.
2.You cannot sell the player for profit.
3.If you redistribute the player, I ask you provide a link back to this page
4.I retain the right to make the player non-free at any time and/or change the agreement stated here now without notice; this particular goes for future releases of the player.
5.Users understand that this player is being provided as a promotional tool by Studio3d.tv and that using it to harm Studio3d.tv, whether by inappropriate use, direct competition or other, is not allowed.
6.Future, past, and modified versions of this player may not offer the same licencing agreement mentioned here.

If you can agree to all that, you are welcome to use this player for free. If you are confused by the user agreement, feel free to ask me directly if it would be okay to use it. Registering on this site and leaving a comment below of how you intend to use the player would be a great way to show me your thanks though anyways.

If you wish to have access to the player's source code, or wish to have a custom version of the player made, please contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and explain your situation. We can work something out.

If you are hoping to see added features or changes made to the player, or are hoping to get involved in it's development, email me also or leave a comment below. I am looking for experienced help in creating a free-to-use community 3D player and video sharing site.

Btw, I am providing limited support for this free product, but please leave suggestions and comments below, and I will do my best to appease everyone.

HOW TO USE THE PLAYER.

Using the player is fairly straight forward. The player needs to be on the same domain as the 3D side-by-side video file in question, or proper permissions on the server need to be added. Any adobe-flash compatible format should be compatible, which includes MP4 h264 formats.

To embed the player into a website, you can use the common embed/object HTML code to do this. Make sure to enable fullscreen as a parameter in this code if you wish the fullscreen button to work. The only difference with this player versus a typical flash app is that the video source and video settings need to be set in the embedded source address.

so, for example, to load a video you would use: myaddress.com/mediaplayer.swf?file=videofilegoeshere.avi

the optional in-url params are:
aspect=43 (aspect=169 is default if not specified. No automatic aspect ratio detection.)
swaplr=true (swaps the left/right frames by default ; off by default)
qual=1 (sets the player for 2D only mode, assuming 2D input as source; off by default)

ie: myaddress.com/mediaplayer.swf?file=video...t=43&swaplr=true

While I can add support for param-based settings, I figure URL-based settings allows for a nice and easy one-line way to share a video. Let me know what you think.

I setup a sample website that uses the 3d Web Player; check out it's source code to see the most basic usage of the flash app.

Updated and released the community 3D web player to version 0.60 today.

You can download the newest version HERE

The main new feature is that at the end of a video, an external Javascript call is made. "s3dVideoEnd()" is the function that is called, so include that JS function in your website if you wish to take advantage of it.

Another added feature is the ability to enable your own Google Analytics account to the player; triggers when a video is loaded and when the video has been open for two minutes. Simple add the command line option "GATid" set to whatever your Google Tracker number is. ie: "UA-250000-1". This feature is completely untested***.

I also moved a few things around. There are some features that I have not yet perfected that I did not include with this release however, including real-time position shifting of the video and embedded ads imported from XML files. Eventually, maybe.

Anyways, Regards.
